Sizing is where a changeout goes right or wrong, and it has little to do with whatever was bolted down before. We run a Manual J load calculation, which is a room by room measurement of the house: square footage, ceiling height, window area and direction, insulation, and how leaky the place is. Oversizing is the classic mistake in this part of Texas.
